It's a build that has been perfected for bad players. Not that I consider Divine Intervention an improvement. But Shield of Absorption, for e.g., on a high-armored target getting hammered would produce a ton of zeros rather quickly. And it has a recharge of 10s instead of the 30s of Divine Intervention. But it has a 1s cast time and is not the "Oh Shit!" button that Divine Intervention is... so the monk actually has to think a little and pre-prot.

But SoA won't make it into the standard Ursan group because Ursans don't know wtf it does and Ursan monks won't be able to use it right because "wtf!! this skill sucks! it doesn't make red bar go up..."

Which is exactly why you don't mess with Ursanway bars. It was made BY idiots, FOR idiots. It's super easy wins, and if you're going to run it, you might as well just run the copypasta builds and do it right.

at first I cannot understand why players need other players to be using a certain cookie cutter build or any build that they desire. Players are human being, they are not your AI heros. If you like to play with other real people, one should at least give these "other real life player" a chance to use their build is my humble opinion.

What is the game becoming that players have to use trickery to get into a pug group?

so at first i thought this topic was just silly because ive never had a problem with people saying my HB build sucks use the pvxwiki. so i look up healer's boon on pvxwiki, and the builds actually suck. like 5 out of 8 of the skills in each one i would switch, except for the HA one which was surprisingly decent skill wise for full heal HB, however the attributes were crap. i can definitely see why you would not want to use them, however switching a skill after you pinged your bar is just dirty and foul play. if your bar was actually good i would hope someone on your team would stick up for you, otherwise i would just leave and make my own or join another.

i don't rly have problems with pugs telling me my skillbar. i join, communicate with the other monk, adjust bar according to the area and ping. if there are complaints, i explain my choice and if there's still complaints, i'm likely to flash them the phoenix and leave :P

Rather bring Aura of Faith and set them straight instead.

I like to make sure my group ping

Because we had a sin with Mending, Watchful Spirit and Live Vicariously in his bar. I told him he wasn't exactly what we were looking for, and kicked him. (hey no need to be an asshole to someone).

As far as their concerend you could have either a competent build (if that's your idea of competent) or you could have a ferocious beastmaster that uses a bow by night and sword by day.

You have to take into account, for the most part Ursan players are the worst of the worst. They simply did some grind for rank 10 Norn, but they are still the kinds of players that you would NEVER want in pugs. They just have it easy now, so don't need to think about skills.
